Sam Pinto Ready To Go More Daring

SAM PINTO won twice as FHM’s sexiest woman but this didn’t seem to help boost her showbiz career. She has played leading lady to Cesar Montano in “Hitman” and has done other movies and TV shows, but stardom remains elusive. Now, she’s one of the VJ’s being introduced by MTV Pinoy that starts airing on February 14.

Before, everytime you ask Sam about her lovelife, she’d say it’s zero. But not anymore. She now confesses that she has a non-showbiz boyfriend, but she wouldn’t reveal his name.

“Let him keep his privacy,” she says. “He’s a businessman at we’ve been friends for a while. Pero naging officially on kami just a few months ago. Happy naman ako.”

How old is he? “Bagets pa naman, but mas mature sa’kin kasi gusto ko, inaalagaan ako. Ayokong ako ang nag-aalaga.”

Is she ready to be a VJ? “I’ll try hard and do my best kasi nakikita ko yung mga ibang VJ, madadaldal sila, di ba? Hindi naman ako ganun. So paghahandaan ko yang mabuti pag sumalang na ako.”

What about her acting career? Someone said she should be more daring. “Kaya ko naman siguro. But it will depend kung gaano ka-daring. Kung tipong Anne Curtis, makakaya ko, pero kung Cristine Reyes na mas bigay na bigay, parang hindi. Masyadong daring yun for me. Hindi naman ako nagmamadali to get that big break. Basta habang wala pa yun, I continue to train sa acting, hosting, dancing, so that when the right time comes, ready na ako.”

The MTV Pinoy presscon was held at Viva’s new venue, The Library at Metro Walk. Viva artists now perform there regularly at 8 PM, Jinky Vidal on Mondays, Top Suzara on Tuesday, Sheng Belmonte on Wednesdays, Jon Santos on Thursdays, Davey Langit on Fridays.

Special shows are the Hotdog Band on Valentine’s Day, Deep Projek and Paula Bianca on February 8, Mark Bautista on February 15, and the New Minstrels on February 22.
