Local Music Icon Kuh Ledesma Topbills Casino Filipino Shows In March

KUH LEDESMA is glad to stage a free concert series in all Casino Filipino (CF) branches in Luzon and Metro Manila this March. Bong Quintana, PAGCOR Asst VP for Entertainment, is excited on Kuh’s upcoming shows. “We are very happy that we will be able to offer no less than Ms. Kuh Ledesma, no doubt an international and a multi-talented artist who’s an icon in OPM.”

Ledesma’s concert tour will start tonight at CF-Olongapo. Then she’ll perform in casino branches in Parañaque (March 7), Tagaytay (March 8), Pavilion (March 14) and Angeles (March 15) as part of Casino Filipino’s ‘March to Summer’ entertainment offerings.

A certified crowd-drawer, Ledesma has been a Philippine music legend for 35 years, has successfully performed in more than 1,000 concerts and has completed 20 local albums. She was hailed as the first-ever Filipino artist to receive the Salem Music Awards in March 1989. She has also held series of back-to-back shows with international artists such as Noel Pointer, Jack Jones, Kenny Rankin, The Platters, and Michel Legrand. In her Casino Filipino shows, Kuh’s repertoire will include her original hits and covers of the music of Barbra Streisand and Adelle, among others.“I always get excited to meet new audiences. It’s also clearer to me now that the people I meet along the way are never by coincidence so I make sure I share some of my own personal blessed experiences in life with them,” she says.

Kuh is a nurse who gained fame as a member of Music & Magic. She went solo and hit it big in 1979 with “Dito Ba”, theme song of the hit movie “Miss X”. “The most valuable lesson I learned from my experiences in the past 35 years is always do your best.”

Kuh commended PAGCOR’s support to local artists and the agency’s commitment to national development initiatives. “Thank you for your unwavering support to Filipino artists. It definitely encourages our singers, especially the young ones, to pursue their passion for performing. These artists are given venues to showcase their talents. Also, thank you for the generous support you give to our public schools and health centers.”

Apart from Kuh’s concert tour, Casino Filipino also features other top caliber performers like Isay Alvarez, Robert Seña and Jenine Desiderio for its ‘March to Summer’ entertainment offerings. For more details on their shows in Casino Filipino, please call the PAGCOR Entertainment Dept at
