GMA-7 Ran Out Of New Primetime Soaps, Now Showing Tagalized Hollywood Films

TWO GMA primetime soaps ended last Friday, but they don’t have new local shows to replace them with, so starting yesterday, they’ve been showing Tagalized Hollywood movies, dubbed by Kapuso actors. This started with “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” with Alden Richards, Enzo Pineda and Lauren Young as voice actor. Tonight, they have “Alvin and the Chipmunks”; tomorrow, “Elf” starring Will Ferrell; on Thursday, “Tooth Fairy”; on Friday, “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” voiced by Jake Vargas and Julie Ann San Jose.

The new soaps of GMA will start on January 27, led by “Carmela” starring Marian Rivera, “Rhodora X” with Jennylyn Mercado, and in the afternoon “The Borrowed Wife” with Camille Prats. Meantime, whoever is in charge of new project developments should work double time to make sure this sudden shortage of new soaps won’t happen again as it’s definitely bad for primetime programming and will give their competition a sure edge and advantage.
