Vivian Velez, Angelica Panganiban Are Cinema One Filmfest Best Actress Winners

THE CINEMA ONE filmfest awards night was held at ABS-CBN’s Dolphy Theatre last Saturday Night. It gave a special tribute to Regal Entertainment producer Mother Lily Monteverde and to Director Elwood Perez.

In the Plus Division (five films that got a grant of P2 million each), the winners are “Alamat ni China Doll” for best sound, editing, music and cinematography; “Blue Bustamante” for best production design; Mes de Guzman (Sitio) for best screenplay; Peque Gallaga (Woman of the Ruins) as best supporting actor; Bing Pimentel (Kabisera) as best supporting actress; Joel Torre (Kabisera) as best actor; Angelica Panganiban (Alamat ni China Doll) as best actress; Alfonso Torre III (Kabisera) as best director; Sitio for best jury prize; and “Alamat ni China Doll” as best picture.

In the Currents Division (ten films that got P1 million each), the winners are “Islands” for best sound, “Riddles of My Homecoming” for best music, cinematography, production design; “Saturday Night Chills” for best editing; Jet Leyco and Norman Wilwayco (“Bukas Na Lang Sapagkat Gabi Na”) for best screenplay; David Chua (Saturday Night Chills) as best supporting actor; Anna Luna (Bendor) as best supporting actress; Rayver Cruz, Matteo Guidicelli, and Joseph Marco (Saturday Night Chills) as best actors; Vivian Velez (Bendor) as best actress; Arnel Mardoquio (Riddles of my Homecoming) as best director; Jury Prize: “Riddles of my Homecoming”; and best picture: “Bukas Na Lang Sapagkat Gabi Na”.
