Sarah Geronimo Says She Doesn't Need A Man To Be Happy Or Inspired

SARAH GERONIMO is adamant in not revealing anything on what’s the real score between her and Matteo Guidicelli. When asked if there’d be a man who’ll show up at her 10th anniversary concert, “Perfect 10” at the Big Dome on November 15 and at MOA Arena on November 30 (just like when Gerald Anderson popped up in one of her gigs), she said: “Ayoko pong dumepende na sa lalaki para lang... ang ibig kong sabihin, kasi ‘yung the past shows na ginawa ko, laging merong mga... alam n’yo na po ‘yon. Sabi ko, this time, ayokong may halong gano’n. Gusto ko, ako lang talaga dahil concert ko naman ito at ‘yung talent ko ang sinu-showcase dito, hindi ‘yung lovelife ko o kung sinumang nali-link sa akin. Di ba? So, ayoko pong ihalo ‘yon.”

So what’s the real score between her and Matteo Guidicelli? “Huwag na po... pasensya na. Ayoko na tala­gang pag-usapan. Lahat po ng pinagdaanan ko, naging open book kasi talaga ‘yung personal kong buhay. So, sana naiintindihan n’yo na this time, sana gusto kong gawing private at ayokong haluan ng showbiz kung kung sinuman ‘yung taong mapapalapit sa puso ko. Kasi, nandu’n na talaga ‘yung takot ko. And at the same time, gusto kong makita kung gaano kasinsero siguro ‘yung tao na ‘yon. So, pasensya na po, talagang hindi ako ganu’n ka-open. Nagdesisyon talaga ako na, no offense meant sa inyo, talagang hindi ko kayo masagot nang diretso.”

But is she happy and inspired now? “Opo, kailangan po, e. Kailangan para magpatuloy kang mabuhay at nandu’n ‘yung fire mo na pagbutihan pa at pagsipagan ang trabaho mo. So, importante na kahit walang lovelife, ins­pired ka, e. Importanteng may inspirasyon ka, kahit hindi sa lalaki.”

What will she do in her concert? “I’ll sing my hit songs, with new arrangements, new flavour. Babalikan ko how I started in ‘Star for a Night’ 10 years ago and my journey as a singer and a performer, along with the people who became part of my life along the way. Isang gusto ko talaga maging guest is Ms. Rege (Regine Velasquez), kasi she was the host of Star for A Night then at naging isa sa mentors ko.”

Does she have a new movie or TV show? “As of now, wala pa. I accepted being a coach again sa Season 2 ng ‘The Voice’. Movie, next year na siguro.” Would she be paired anew with John Lloyd Cruz? “Oo naman. Yung success ng movies namin, utang din namin kay Direk Cathy Molina. Pero sana, sa susunod, ibang material naman. Rest muna sina Miggy at Laida (their characters in the movies they made that were all big hits.)”
