“I’m aware that it’s a very popular show,” he says. “I know marami itong fans kasi sa Facebook, lagi kong napapabasa ang updates tungkol sa ‘My Husband’s Lover’. I hope it’s regular viewers will appreciate my presence in the soap, kahit bandang huli na.”
What will be his role? “Mabilis lang ang partisipasyon ko dito. Pero hindi ko naman puedeng i-reveal, para may element of surprise. But I just hope I get accepted by the followers ng ‘My Husband’s Lover.’”
So is this is a confirmation that it’s with GMA-7 that he’ll sign up with and no longer renew his contract with TV5? “Wala pa namang announcement. Abangan nyo na lang. Basta excited ako at kahit buhul-buhol ang schedule ko, my manager Noel Ferrer and I worked out my sked para makaabot ako sa kanilang taping. Nasa Palawan pa kasi kami ng family ko at nagbabakasyon when I got the offer. Pagdating namin dito, diretso na ko sa hosting ng ‘Eat Bulaga’ and later, nag-taping na ako for ‘My Husband’s Lover’ at ang kaeksena ko, si Carla Abellana.”
He and wife Judy Ann Santos are now also preparing for the birthdays of their kids Yohan and Lucho. “We want it to be a simple birthday celebration only with close family and friends. Ang nakakatuwa kay Lucho, who’s turning 3 on October 7, ngayon pa lang niya naiintindihan ang concept na magbi-birthday na siya. Excited na siya. Ilang araw na niyang sinasabi na gusto na niyang mag-blow ng candle sa kanyang birthday cake. Ni hindi siya nanghihingi ng birthday gift. Basta gusto niya ng party na may birthday cake.”
