Tuesday Vargas Gets Her First Starring Role In 'Turkey Man Ay Pabo Rin'

TUESDAY VARGAS gets her biggest break playing the lead role in the CineFilipino filmfest entry, “Ang Turkey Man ay Pabo Rin”, a cross-cultural comedy written and directed by Randolph Longjas, a cum laude broadcast communications graduate from UP who’s been doing TV commercials. Tuesday co-stars with American actor Travis Kraft and they play a Filipino-American couple who celebrates married life with karaoke music, superstitious in laws, immigration laws, unexpected pregnancies, brown outs, a Thanksgiving turkey, with a little true love on the side. Their co-stars are Julia Clarete, Cai Cortez and JM De Guzman who finished this before he went into rehab.

“When it was offered to me, yes agad ako, tinanggap ko kahit di ko pa nababasa ang script kasi lead role daw ako,” she says. “Tapos kasali pa sa first CineFilipino Filmfest, o di sige, join tayo diyan.”

Will she be the next comedian to hit it big, like Eugene Domingo? “It’s an honor to be compared to Uge, lalo na’t pareho kaming galing sa UP at sa theatre. Kumbaga, parehas kami ng mundong ginalawan noong college, mundo ng mga babaeng bakla, mga taong teatro na nagsisigawan, maiingay, masasaya. So like Uge, susubukan ko ring magkaroon ako ng sariling marka at makilala on my own sa pangalang Tuesday Vargas.”
“Ang Turkey Man ay Pabo Rin” will have its gala premiere tonight, September 19, at Resorts World Manila, 6:15 PM, and will have its regular run at Lucky Chinatown Cinema, Gateway Cinema, Resorts World Manila and EDSA Shangrila.
