Raymond Gutierrez excited to work Lucy Torres and Cristy Fermin in Showbiz Police

RAYMOND GUTIERREZ is excited to work with new co-hosts Cristy Fermin, Lucy Torres Gomez and Direk Joey Reyes in TV5’s “Showbiz Police” that starts airing tonight at 6 PM. “Siempre, noong una, medyo nervous ako but during our photo shoot and launch, I got to know them better and I felt we’d get along fine as they’re all smart and witty. They’re not the type who’ll just rely on cue cards or idiot boards. Maganda ang magiging batuhan namin kasi we have different backgrounds and opinions. Akala ko, Lucy is just very quiet, yun pala, kalog din.”

Doesn’t he see any clash in the future? “No, as long as we have mutual respect for each other, I think we’ll have a good working relationship.” Cristy had a conflict with his mom before. “She’s nice to me. Hiwalay naman ako sa pinagdaanan nila ng mom ko.”
He’ll have his own segments. “I’ll do my own one on one interviews which I missed kasi sa ‘Hot TV’ on GMA, wala kaming ganoon. I’ll also have a segment called Housebreak that will feature houses of celebrities. It’d be great for me especially now that I live on my own in my home in Rockwell for about a year now.”

Who’s he with? “No one. I’m alone. Twice a week, a maid comes to clean and do the laundry. When I’m hungry, I just have stuff that I can put on the microwave.”

His special guests tonight are his own siblings, Ruffa and Richard. “I’m thrilled as this is the first time we’ll all appear together with me interviewing them.”

Is Richard really now a dad and is he also moving to TV5? “I’ll ask him about that tonight in ‘Showbiz Police’, so abangan nyo. Maraming pasabog. I’m so glad that our studio is in the new building of TV5 on Reliance St. in Mandaluyong, so it’s very near my place in Rockwell at hindi sa Novaliches studios nila.”

Raymond is now a free lancer on TV but he’s really wearing many hats. Off cam, he is the fashion editor of Esquire, a consultant for Preview Magazine and Unilever, and he’s also opening a new bar, 71 Gramercy.

“It’s on the 71st floor of a skyscraper on Makati Avenue and it’s the first time we’ll habe one like in the country that you have a 360 degree view of Metro Manila. We’re opening late October or early November.”
