Kiddie Star Bianca Umali Of 'Mga Basang Sisiw' A Future Superstar

KIDDIE STAR Bianca Umali is now a pretty 13 year old and she plays the Ate of her younger siblings in “Mga Basang Sisiw” that airs starting this afternoon after “Eat Bulaga”. Off cam, Bianca has a very sad personal story. She became an orphan at such an early age when her mom died of her breast cancer when she was 5 years old, followed by her dad died who succumbed to heart failure.

She grew up with her paternal grandma who’s now 75 years old. She started working as a TV commercial model then GMA got her to work with them as a child actress, playing the young Angelika de la Cruz in “Kaya Kong Abutin ang Langit” when she was 9. She later became a regular host in the kiddie show, “Tropang Potchi”.

In “Mga Basang Sisiw”, she does a lot of crying scenes as their mom, played by Lani Mercado, also dies in a plane crash and it’s so easy for her to shed tears as she just thinks of her deceased parents. She’s now in first year high school on a home study program. No matter how busy she is in showbiz, she wants to pursue her studies and get a college degree.
