Dingdong Dantes Transforms Himself Into A Prophet For His New Series, 'Genesis'

DINGDONG DANTES didn’t expect his movie “Dance of the Steel Bars” to clobber “Man of Steel” at the box office, but he’s happy that it still did well even if it’s being shown only in selected SM Cinemas. “What’s encouraging is the feedback from those who’ve seen it,” he says. “Lahat sila, nagustuhan ang pelikula. They all said it’s worthwatching. No wonder extended kami for a second week of showing kasi marami pang gustong manood, lalo na when it became the top trending topic sa Twitter in the Philippines. Sa ngayon, may film festivals na rin abroad na magiging next stop ng ‘Dance of the Steel Bars’ for international screening. Sure na itong ipalalabas sa U.S. at sa Dubai.”

Now that the movie has been shown, Dingdong is all set to start taping his new TV series, “Genesis”, which had its story conference the other night. It’s definite that after auditioning several actresses (some even from rival networks), Rhian Ramos was chosen to be his leading lady. This is their second team up after the hit “Stairway to Heaven” that they did four years ago. Dingdong will be playing a Biblical character, said to be a prophet from olden times, so he’ll be wearing a beard and will sport very long hair. This is intended to start airing in September, a super production to be directed by Joyce Bernal and Mark Reyes.
