“No problem kasi, ever since, magkasundo naman kami ni Tita Jane (Jaclyn’s real name),” he says. “She plays the family matriarch Donya Charito Carbonell and I play her son Ziggy. I’m really excited to work with her kasi napakahusay niyang aktres. Nagpakuha nga ako ng picture na magkasama kami para ipakita ko sa daddy ko.”
Isn’t he too young to play the dad of Louise de los Reyes and Lauren Young in “Mundo Mo’y Akin”? “Walang kaso sa’kin yun. Ang importante, tuloy-tuloy ang trabaho ko sa GMA. Mas bata pa nga sa’kin si Angelika de la Cruz as my wife at siyang mother nila. Also, our characters play roles as substantials as that of Louise, Lauren and Alden Richards.”
Jaclyn Jose was just with TV5 in “Valiente” then moved to ABS for “Kapag Puso’s Masugatan” and now she’s with GMA-7 for “Mundo Mo’y Akin”.
“My last soap sa GMA was ‘Zorro’ in 2009 pa kaya matagal na rin,” she says.
She confirms that she and Gabby have always be in good terms. Jaclyn, born in 1964, is actually just 14 years older than Gabby, born in 1978 (he turned 35 on March 2.)
“Very responsible yan. Siyang eldest sa mga anak ni Ralph (Mark Gil) at siyang tumayong daddy ni Andi as she was growing up. 12 years older siya kay Andy at tuwing birthday ni Andi, nandun siya. Hanggang ngayon, sa anak ni Anding si Ellie, naroon pa rin siya. Maaasahan talaga.”
She plays another villain role in “Mundo Mo’y Akin”. “Yes, magagalit na naman sa’kin ang viewers. Pero mas masama yung role ko as Donya Trining na pinapaikot talaga ang mga tao. Dito, as Donya Charito Carbonell, matapobre’s mapang-api lang ako.”
