A VERY PROMISING act in “Kanta Pilipinas” is the sister-brother duo of Nicole and Carlo David, children of jazz singer Mon David, who has four kids. “Our eldest is Paulo, 28,” says Nicole. “Then me, I’m 26, then Carlo who’s 24 and Micaela, 23. Our family is in L.A. Kami lang ni Carlo ang umuwi rito after we migrated in 2007. We tried working there but we both realized mas mahal namin ang Pilipinas.”
Nicole finished comm arts at Ateneo while Carlo took up music composition at UP. Carlo is very imposing on stage with his 6’2” height. He has just shot his first TV commercial. They’re both members of a band called Carlo & Nicole and are now both managed by Annabelle Regalado and Marvin Agustin. It’s really amazing how they arrange their own numbers and make even old songs sound like new.
