'Flames Of Love': Directorial Debut Of Film Critic & Up Open U Chancellor Gigi Javier Alfonso

URIAN MEMBER and UP Open University Chancellor Gigi Javier Alfonso has directed her first full length film, “Flames of Love”, written by Baby Nebrida. A family drama about four families whose lives are intertwined with each other, the powerhouse cast includes Christopher de Leon, Dina Bonnevie, Lani Mercado, Ricky Davao, Jaclyn Jose, Allen Dizon, Valerie Concepcion, Megan Young, Rina Reyes, Alvin Anson, Marita Zobel, Mavi Lozano, Jodi Nebrida, Irene Celebre and Marnie Lapuz.

Christopher is glad to be part of a movie that fosters having good family values and faith in God. “’Flames of Love’ is about ordinary people like you and me who face trials and challenges they can’t see to resolve by themselves,” he says. “It’s about being hurt and learning how to forgive. It’s about love and hate, passion and despair, and other emotions that we all experience in life.”

Allen Dizon is paired with Valerie Concepcion in the story. “The film is shot with Fr. Gil Peter Coching to guide us,” he says. “It’s very inspiring, uplifting and also very entertaining.”

Allen has also just finished “Migrante” which is also about families broken up when spouses work abroad. “I really wish our viewers would support meaningful films like this so more producers would be encouraged to produce them.”

“Flames of Love” will be released in theaters nationwide soon.
