Phoemela Baranda Deplores Neglect Of Local Models Due To Proliferation Of Brazilians And Other Foreign Models In The Country

PHOEMELA BARANDA is Belo Medical Clinic’s official endorser for breast augmentation. She was launched in their Beauty Issues campaign along with Jennylyn Mercado, Coco Martin and Grace Lee. Jennylyn and Coco were no shows. Only Phoem and Grace showed up. Phoem says she’s so happy with Belo as it offers the widest range of surgical and non-surgical procedures from liposculpting and cosmetic surgery to removals of warts, moles, birthmarks, hair, scars and stretch marks. “I trust no one else but Belo,” she says.

Phoem is busy now as president of PMAP (Professional Models Association of the Philippines). “We’ll have our 25th anniversary fashion show and photo exhibit on November 5 at Marriott Hotel. It’s a reunion of members from Apples Aberin and Tina Maristela to John Estrada and Eric Quizon who’ll host the show. All the top designers will be represented. Pakiusap namin sa producers ng fashion shows, kunin din sana nila ang local models. Kasi ngayon, puro foreigners ang kinukuha nila, lalo na Brazilians. They’re all over.”

She’s also hosting a lifestyle show, “Cityscape”, on ANC every Friday at 9:30 and she does special reports on “The Buzz”. She got acclaim then for her acting in the indie film “Pamana”. “Nami-miss ko nga ang acting. I wish I could do another movie.”

How about her lovelife? Who’s she with after band guitarist Ira Cruz? “Wala. I’m so busy with work.”
