Derrick Monasterio Hopes Josh-Bie Fans Won'T Get Mad At Him Now That He'S Paired With Barbie Forteza In 'Luna Blanca'

DERRICK MONASTERIO was surprised when he was informed that he was chosen by the National Youth Commission as a youth ambassador. “I felt baka hindi ako deserving, but now na napili ako, I have to behave well so that I can be a good example to young people like me,” he says. “It’s an honor, pero may pressure rin para ako laging magpaka-good boy.”

Why, is he a bad boy? “Hindi, a. Wala nga akong bisyo. Maski tanong nyo pa sa mom ko (actress Tina Monasterio) and my two sisters. Mabait ako. Virgin pa po ako.”

He’s now paired with Barbie Forteza in Book 2 of “Luna Blanca”. Did he ask permission from Joshua Dionisio about this? “No, walang chance. Hindi na kami nagkita after ‘Tween Hearts’. I’m sure the fans of their love team were also surprised kasi malaki ang fan base nila. I hope hindi magalit yung fans nila. Nagulat din ako when I was told I’d be part of this primetime show at akong ipapareha kay Barbie, but we have to trust management’s decision. And salamat din sa kanila for choosing me. Challenging ang role ko rito kasi poor boy akong lumaki sa dumpsite. Nagbubungkal ng basura. E, dati, laging rich boy ang role ko.
