CJ Corona's Appearance Will Make The Impeachment Hearings The Show To Watch On Tuesday

THE TV SHOW to watch on Tuesday will be the impeachment hearings. The public has lost interest in it but this was revived by the brave revelations of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales, who quickly gained a lot of fans as she disclosed Corona’s dollar account transactions from 2003 to 2011, while the always irascible and pompous Miriam Santiago (who continues to show her true color as a supporter of Gloria and Corona) elicited more smirks.

The appearance of Corona on Tuesday will surely be a hit as people would want to hear how he’d defend himself. The die is cast and he’s now crossing his Rubicon. We personally believe that whatever happens, he’s already damaged and his credibility as Chief Justice will forever be in question. It’s obvious that he was not honest with his SALN declarations for several years now. How can you trust a liar? The public has long lost its trust in the judiciary, with judges perceived as hoodlums in robes. Hopefully, Corona’s conviction will help bring back trust in our justice system. After all, he’s not as important as the institution itself.
