New Boy Band Called Vfort Launched By Viva Records

VIVA RECORDS launched the album of a new boy band, VFort, at Metro Bar last weekend. Their debut album is entitled “The Love Band Project”. “Love Band kasi to distinguish it sa karaniwang tawag na boy band,” they explain. Comprising VFort is a trio of hunky young men: Kerwin Caballero (who looks like a young Leo Valdez), Visam Arenas (who looks like Akihiro Sato) and Toff Guela (an assistant director at ABS-CBN).

Toff is the eldest, born on Dec. 8, 1988 and finished organizational communication in UP. Kerwin was born on March 4, 1989 in Cagayan de Oro and finished management at AMA. Visam (his name is a computer term) was born on Sept. 14, 1990 and is still taking up commerce at UST. How did they meet?

“We’re all models and we met in a modelling event called 100 Bachelors,” says Kerwin. “To entertain the audience, they got models who sing at doon kami nabuo.”

“Before that, we don’t know each other at all,” says Toff. “They then trained us further as singers and we started singing in special corporate events.”

“Our manager, Gio Bulanadi, then asked us to do our first album tapos inilapit sa Viva and they decided to launch it,” says Visam. “Now, Viva is also co-managing us. They also made us take drama worshops, so we can perform well on stage and not just sing.”
Their album has 9 original songs, mostly composed by their voice coach, Jeff Cifra, and one remake, Pink’s “Just Like a Pill”.

Their carrier single is “Princesa”, made with a music video co-starring beauty queens Shamcey Supsup, Diane Necio and Isabel Manjon. There are other songs titled “Princesa” but their version is new and a much more upbeat one. Other songs in their album are “Still”, “Mananatili”, “Coffee Song”, “Dance”, “Hindi Ko Kaya”, “Kung Pag-ibig ay Wala Na”, “Sweetheart” and “Couldn’t Be Without You”. Each song has a story of its own about love and life seen from various perspectives and experiences.
