Rochelle Pangilinan Says She Didn'T Steal The 'Lam-Ang' Lead Role From Isabelle Daza

ROCHELLE PANGILINAN is happy that she was the one chosen to be Rocco Nacino’s leading lady, Saridandan, in “Lam-ang”, the indie movie about the Ilocano epic hero to be directed by Anna Agabin and to be shot on location in Ilocos next month. They want a morena actress who can dance and she certainly fits the bill.

Some folks accuse her of snatching the role away from Isabelle Daza. “Hindi ko po siya sinulot,” she says. “Nag-audition po ako at suwerte lang na akong napili. It’s really a blessing dahil na-offer din daw ito kay Karylle. E, ako naman, I don’t mind kahit sabihing second or third choice ako, basta I’ll do my best para magampanan ng tama ang role ko.”

She’ll be in costume throughout the movie and this is not new to her since she was also in full costume in her role as Marikit in “Amaya”. “Nakatulong nga ang ‘Amaya’, pati ang Tagalog lines namin doon, dahil lumang Tagalog din ang gagamitin sa ‘Lam-ang’,” she adds.

She’ll now have to advance taping her scenes in her GMA-7 soap, “Broken Vow”, where she plays wife to Gabby Eigenmann and villain to Bianca King. “20 days raw kami sa Ilocos, so kailangan makapag-advance ako ng episodes ko in our soap. Ganun din naman si Rocco na may soap din, ‘The Good Daughter’.”
