“Before, we also acted together in ‘Andres de Saya’, pero one season lang yun,” says Elmo at the “Daldalita” presscon. “Magkasama rin kami sa ‘Party Pilipinas’ but we just sing, iba pa rin yung may kasamang acting like in ‘Daldalita’. Request din yun ng fans ng love team namin, to see us act together.”
In “Daldalita”, Elmo plays Gino, Ogie Alcasid’s assistant while Julie Ann plays Marga, Donna Cruz and Manilyn Reynes’ younger sister. When Donna dies giving birth to Jillian Ward as “Daldalita”, Manilyn and Julie Ann help Ogie in taking care of the baby.
It’s said that in an interview, Elmo’s mom, Pia Magalona declared she doesn’t want Julie Ann to be her son’s girlfriend in real life. What can Julie Ann say about this?
“I don’t know, hindi ko po nabasa yun,” she says. “Maybe you should ask Ms. Pia directly. Kasi, pag nakikita ko siya, mabait naman siya sa’kin and she never made me feel na ayaw niya sa’kin for Elmo. But I respect her and I want her to know na wala pa naman sa isip kong makipag-boyfriend. Friends lang talaga kami ni Elmo.”
Is Elmo her crush? “Ay hindi po. Ang crushes ko are Richard Gutierrez, Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo. I go for older guys.”
Elmo says he doesn’t believe his mom would say such a thing objecting to Julie Ann. “The truth is she likes Julie Ann,” he adds. “Kasi very professional at napakagaling pang performer.”
