What happened? “We were told baka by August daw,” he says. “Hinahanapan daw ng tama’t magandang time slot kasi very adult ang theme ng show at may sexy scenes. Ang tagal na nga naming nagte-taping. As of now, we’re on our 13th week na kaya excited na rin kaming cast members na mapanood ito on air.”

He has just finished two new films, “Deadline”, that will have is premiere night at the UP Film Institute in Diliman this Saturday, and “Patikul”, now showing at the CCP and Greenbelt 3 as part of Cinemalaya. He plays a crusading Muslim journalist in “Deadline” who is ordered to be killed by a corrupt governor so he goes into hiding and a no read-no write coffee farmer in “Patikul” who becomes the leader of their village against the abusive Abu Sayyaf. “The movies I’ve been doing lately are also learning experiences for me,” he tells us at the hit gala screening of “Patikul” at the CCP. “From ‘Dukot’ na political activist ako and ‘SIgwa’ na double agent ako ng military, up to ‘Deadline ‘ and ‘Patikul’, ang dami kong natutuhan tungkol sa history at current events ng bansa natin. Dahil din sa ‘Dukot’, I was able to travel around the world kasi it was invited to be shown in various cities in the U.S. and Canada and also various countries in Europe.”
