Lily Piccio former Pinay Nanny of Prince William was acknowledged at the wedding

THE FORMER NANNY of Prince William, Lily Piccio, who was the only Filipino invited to his wedding to Kate Middleton, was interviewed via phone patch in “Showbiz Central”. Lily is the sister of a friend, Buday Piccio of Bacolod, and we got to meet her in person in 1994 in London. My late wife Vicky and I were then visiting London and we gave her a call. She came along to our hotel with her other sister who was also part of the Buckingham Palace royal staff. They wanted to treat us to dinner but we were then going out with some friends so we just had a long chat at our hotel room. They asked us if we want some toys that Princes William and Harry have discarded for our own kids but from London, we were still going to other parts of Europe then so we begged off.

In ‘Showbiz Central’, Lily said she couldn’t believe she’s one of the 2,000 guests invited to the wedding. She was seated right behind David and Victoria Beckham. She was so excited as she served in the palace for 15 years. She was there when William was baptized and when Princess Diana passed. Later at the reception, the Royal Butler called her saying William wanted to see her. When William came, he pointed Lily to Kate, saying “Oh, it’s Lily”. He approached her and kissed her. She hugged him in return. He said: “I’m glad you’re here”, then introduced her to his wife.
