Frencheska Farr being wooed by Ervic Vijandre

FRENCHESKA FARR, winner in “Are You the Next Big Star”, is happy with her role in her first TV series, “Captain Barbell”, as Sonica, a superhero who’s weapon is her mighty voice. This is a fitting follow up to her winning the best breakthrough performance for “Emir” in the recent Golden Screen Awards. “Being in a hit primetime show like this is really a good exposure for someone new like me,” she says.

Does this mean she’s now devoting more time to acting? “No, siempre, singing remains to be my priority dahil first love ko at diyan ako unang nakilala. But I think hindi naman masamang pagsabayin ang dalawa. Maraming nag-start sa singing who also successfully branched out into acting like Nora Aunor, Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez. So hindi naman siguro masamang mangarap.”

She has yet to have a boyfriend but she’s now being linked to “Captain Barbell” co-star Ervic Vijandre, former BF of Marian Rivera. “Magkasama kasi kami sa tent when we’re taping at tinutukso nila kami sa isa’t isa. Bagay raw kami kasi pareho kaming matangkad. I’m 5’8” and he’s 6’2” kaya perfect daw kami.” How does she feel about it? “Naku, biro-biro lang yan at di dapat seryosohin.”
