STARTING MONDAY TONIGHT, Iza Calzado is replacing the infanticipating Regine Velasquez as Tonette/Tonya in “
I Heart You Pare”. Doing something like this is nothing new. The role of Faye in “Okay Ka Fairy Ko” has been played by several actresses. More recently, Sunshine Dizon did only three weeks of ‘Tinik sa Dibdib’ and was replaced by Nadine Samonte when she suddenly left the show. “It’s an honor for me to take over kay Ate Regine and I want to thank her for personally choosing me to replace her,” says Iza when she started taping for ‘I Heart You Pare’ last Saturday. “Hindi naman bago sa akin ang ganitong role kasi I played something like this na rin in ‘SRO’ two years ago. Bading naman ako roon na naging babae.”
She seems so blessed as she also just started taping her new sitcom with Cesar Montano, “Andres de Saya”, and her stint as a host in “Eat Bulaga” has also been extended. “Marami talaga kong blessings na dapat ipagpasalamat,” she said. “Mapapanood na ko ngayon on TV everyday. Noontime sa ‘Eat Bulaga’, sa gabi sa ‘I Heart U Pare’, and on Saturday nights in ‘Andres de Saya’. At heto, nag-start na rin ako ng shoot in ‘Panday, Ikalawang Yugto’ as Maria Makiling. So talagang sunod-sunod ang trabaho ko kaya hindi na ko sumama sa boyfriend ko (Atticus King) and his family sa vacation nila in Australia like what we planned earlier.”
