Aljur Abrenica chooses between Ai Ai delas Alas and Kylie Padilla

ALJUR ABRENICA’s chiselled torso is in full display once again in many scenes in “Temptation Island”, where he re-creates the role played by the late Alfie Anido in the original movie. “Mahirap ang shooting namin dito sa Ilocos desert kasi sobrang init talaga,” Aljursays . “Last week, nagka-sand storm. Pumasok ang sand sa mata namin, sa tenga namin, ang hirap. Pero masaya kasi maganda samahan naming lahat dito, from Director Chris Martinez to all my co-stars.”

He’s also happy that he’s paired with Heart Evangelista for the first time. Heart reprises the role originally played by Dina Bonnevie, who was really going steady then with Alfie Anido. “May kissing scene kami ni Heart. First time naming magkapareha at gawin ito kaya siempre, nakakailang noong una. Kinabahan talaga ako, but okay naman si Heart, so nagawa namin nang tama. Basta sabi niya, no tongue, please.”

Won’t Heart’s BF Daniel Matsunaga get jealous? “I’m sure, hindi. Friend kami ni Daniel kasi nakatrabaho ko na siya sa ‘The Last Prince’ and also sa ‘Machete’ kaya I’m sure alam niyang ginagawa ko lang ang trabaho ko.”

What's the real score between him and Kylie Padilla? "I don't hide that I admire her so much. Ang ganda niya, e. But as of now, we're just friends as we're both busy. I'm here in Ilocos and also busy with 'Spooky Nights' in Manila. She's starting naman her launching show, 'Blusang Itim'. Wala kaming time magkita."

What about the rumors linking him to Ai Ai de las Alas? “Ayoko sana mag-comment diyan kasi baka I might be accused na ginagamit lang siya para ako mapag-usapan. The truth is we have never met in person. Noong thanksgiving mass for Machete, the priest, si Fr. Eric, kaibigan pala niya at tinawagan siya sa fone, pinakiusap sa’kin. After that, kumalat nang ako yung special guy na sinabihan niyang bibigyan raw ng Porsche sports car. It’s flattering but people just assumed that, hindi naman totoo. Also, yung Porsche car na bibigay raw sa’kin, matchbox lang pala.”
