WENDELL RAMOS formally signed up with TV5 last Tuesday. His first show is “Happier Together”, a new version of the show left by
John Estrada. He’ll be with Joey Marquez. He’ll also be taping for “
Babaeng Hampaslupa”, playing a hired killer who’s the new love interest of
Alice Dixson. So why did he leave GMA-7? “I don’t really have a contract with GMA but I’ve been loyal to them for the past 15 years,” he says. “My new manager, Perry Lansigan, told me that TV5 wants me and we told GMA about it. GMA said they can’t match the offer of TV5 so nagpaalam ako ng maayos sa kanila. Ms. Wilma Galvante even told me ‘Good luck’. Sa TV5, I have a guaranteed contract. Aside from ‘Babaeng Hampaslupa’, isasali rin ako later sa ‘Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak’. But I’ll never forget GMA as marami rin akong ginawang soaps sa kanila both sa afternoon and primetime. It was so sad for him to leave ‘Bubble Gang’. “Di biro yung 15 years na pinagsamahan namin. But nang magpaalam ako kina Ogie and Michael V, they said they’re happy for me at di ko dapat pagsisihan ang decision ko. I’m now also doing a new movie for Star Cinema, ‘Kasalan, Kalasan’. Eugene Domingo plays my wife who suspects I’m gay. Kasama rin namin sina Toni Gonzaga and Zanjoe Marudo.”
