Sarah Geronimo might rebel against overprotective parents

THE REVELATIONS of Sarah Geronimo and her parents in Yes Magazine about her aborted romance with Rayver Cruz was reportedly initiated by a fan, Anna Dasig. We don’t know her and it’s Alfie Lorenzo who told us: “Noong Christmas party ni Sharon Cuneta, siya yung matabang babaeng namamahala sa prizes. Magaling yang maglangis sa mga artista, kung sino ang sikat. Noong nasa London si Sharon for ‘Caregiver’, kasama siya. Tapos naiwan na roon at sumama naman kay Juday (Judy Ann Santos) sa Ireland. O ayan ngayon, nagawa ring maging close kay Sarah.”

But what she did to Sarah is a betrayal of trust. The article put Sarah’s parents in a very bad light. It showed that they’re very controlling and didn’t want Sarah to have a lovelife as she’s their family’s cash cow. Somehow, we pity Sarah, toiling so hard for her parents and siblings and not having a life of her own. It’s all right to help one’s family, but there should be a limit. It’s actually the parents’ obligation to provide for their own kids. Some folks say they won't be surprised if Sarah would rebel against her parents overprotectiveness on her someday.

It was also this Anna who caused the rift between Sarah and Cristine Reyes over Rayver. Cristine didn’t know Anna put her on speaker phone while they were talking about Rayver and Sarah was listening to them. Obviously, this Anna doesn’t have a life of her own and she’s basking on the vicarious experience of hobnobbing with popular stars, even exposing their private life to gain her own 15-minutes of fame.

The timing of all this brouhaha is not good for Sarah’s new movie with Gerald Anderson, “Catch Me, I’m in Love”. For sure, at its presscon, she’ll be grilled about Rayver and not about Gerald.
