ONE VERY promising male Tween Star is 16-year old Derrick Monasterio who’s tall at 5’10” (dwarfing the likes of Joshua Dionisio and Jake Vargas who look up to him when they have scenes together) and has boyish good looks. After being paired with Louise de los Reyes who went solo in “Alakdana”, he’s now with
Kylie Padilla in “Tween Hearts” on Sundays and “
Dwarfina” on weekdays. What does he think of Kylie? “Ang ganda po niya,” he says. “Pero mahiyain pa siya so we’re still adjusting to each other. Nakaka-relate ako with her kasi mahiyain din ako noong una. I introduced her sa co-stars namin sa ‘Tween Hearts’ and they gave her a warm welcome. Madali naman siyang makasundo and as the taping goes on, nag-open up na rin siya.”
He met Kylie’s dad when she celebrated her recent birthday. Is it true Robin Padilla reprimanded him for wooing Kylie? “Hindi po, alam naman niyang wala pa sa’min yung mga ligaw-ligaw kasi ang babata pa namin. Mas mabuting makilala muna namin ang isa’t isa. Ang sabi niya sa’kin, mukha raw naman akong mabait kaya ako ng bahala kay Kylie basta wag ko lolokohin.”
