Award winning French actress Isabelle Huppert shoots international film with Director Dante Mendoza of Kinatay

FRENCH FILM actress Isabelle Huppert came to town to star in Cannes Filmfest best director Dante Mendoza’s latest project, “Prey”, a film about a tourist who gets hostaged by the Abu Sayyaf like Gracia Burnham. She won the Cannes Filmfest best actress twice, first in 1978 for “Violette Noziere” and in 2001 for “The Piano Teacher”. She also won awards for “8 Women” where she got to co-star with other famous French actresses like Catherine Deneuve, Fanny Ardant and Emmanuelle Beart. She says she enjoyed shooting “Prey” with Mendoza who she first met in Cannes two years ago. “I’ve seen his works and he’s an extraordinary filmmaker,” she adds. “I really want to work with him. We shot ‘Prey’ in very remote places in the forest, very difficult, but I enjoyed it all. I hope I can return here for the film’s premiere.”

Local stars who got to work with her in “Prey” are Rustica Carpio (who just won the Tehran Filmfest best actress award with Anita Linda for another Mendoza opus, “Lola”) and Maria Isabel Lopez (who won best supporting actress awards for Mendoza’s “Kinatay”.)
