MARIAN RIVERA was interviewed by John Lapus in “Showbiz Central” about her recent lasik surgery to correct her poor eyesight. The actual footage of the her eye being cut and a new lens being inserted was shown. Marian decided to do it while waiting for her new series, “Amaya”, to start taping in February. John asked what’s Dingdong’s gift to her last Christmas. She said that aside from commissioned sculptures of Darna and Dyesebel, Dingdong paid the medical expenses of a hydrocephalous child and credited it to her name. Later, Marian also showed the new car she bought as a gift to herself, a luxury Savannah Explorer worth P6.5 million that she’ll use in her out of town location tapings for “Amaya”. Right now, they’re still auditioning for new leading men in the show. “Marami ng nag-apply na total newcomers from modelling,” she says. “They want new guys na makakasama ko. May mga kino-consider na, but nothing is final.”
