GMA-7 cooking up new shows

GMA-7 IS ONE big beehive of activity, introducing new shows one after another. After “Alakdana” and “Machete” that are both rating high, “I Heart U, Pare” with Regine Velasquez and Dingdong Dantes will start next week replacing “Beauty Queen”. Aside from the return of “Captain Barbell” and “Amaya”, more new shows will start taping soon.

First is “Sisid”, starring Jackie Rice, JC Tiuseco, Ian Batherson and Dominic Roco, directed by Maryo de los Reyes who’s excited with the underwater scenes in the story about pearl divers. Expect a lot of beautiful bodies, both female and male, to be displayed in various states of dishabille in the show.

Then there’s “Nita Negrita” starring Barbie Forteza as the black girl reminiscent of previous tales like “Cofradia” and “Rosa Negra”, with perennial partner Joshua Dionisio and Carmina Villaroel as Barbie’s mom, directed by Joel Lamangan. This should stop Barbie-Joshua fans from complaining that their idols are being neglected by GMA. Last is “Magic Palayok” with Carla Abellana and on and off screen partner Geoff Eigenmann, supported by Nadine Samonte and Cherie Gil as the villains. These three shows will be replacing “Koreana”, “Little Star” and “Bantatay” that are all topraters.
