Jillian: Namamasko Po" is ending this week and it'll be replaced by the Kapuso station's first salvo for 2011, the telefantasya "Dwarfina", Heart Evangelista's new show at GMA after "Asero", "Luna Mystica", "Ngayon at Kailanman", "Full House", and "Langit sa Piling Mo". Obviously inspired by the classic fairy tale "Thumbelina", Heart as Dwarfina plays a girl who never grows taller than a finger after she was cursed by a black nuno sa punso (Tony Mabesa) whose mound was accidentally destroyed by her parents. Heart is paired with
Dennis Trillo as Lyndon, Dwarfina's childhood best friend who remains loyal to her despite her being vertically challenged. "Working with Heart is a delight as she's such a fine actress," says Dennis. "We've got to work before in an episode of "Dear Friend' and later in the movie, 'Mano Po 6', but this is our first primetime series together." Even if it's common knowledge that
Dennis is now on with Jennylyn Mercado and
Heart, with Daniel Matsunaga, it cannot be denied that they have great on-screen chemistry together.
Also in the cast of Dwarfina are Janice de Belen, Chanda Romero, Cris Villanueva, Mark Bautista, Iwa Motto, Derrick Monasterio,, Yogo Singh, and Kylie Padilla as members of Dwarfina’s family and friends from the mortal world. Meanwhile, Jackielou Blanco, Jestoni Alarcon, Angelica dela Cruz, Emilio Garcia, Pauleen Luna, Tony Mabesa, Will Devaughn, Gerard Pizarras, Bearwin Meily, Vaness del Moral, and Mico Aytona complete Dwarfina’s supernatural world. The program will also feature the special participation of Ms. Lani Mercado.
