Alex Gonzaga as Babaeng Hampaslupa

ALEX GONZAGA is honored to be supported by no less than movie queen Susan Roces as her grandma and Alice Dixson as her mom in “Babaeng Hampaslupa”, TV5’s first drama series. “I’m so thankful na ang babait nila sa akin and they really help me to be able to play my role well,” she says.

Shot on location in Smokey Mountain, it’s not a remake of two past films with the same title that previously starred the late Nida Blanca in 1954 and Maricel Soriano in 1989, but an original story written by Dinno Erece and directed by Eric Quizon and Joyce Bernal. This time, the title refers to Susan, Alice and Alex. Susan plays a Chinese woman who wants to possess the property of a rich Chinese family headed by Freddie Webb. She has a son, Martin Escudero (who changed his name from Mart that he has left GMA and moved to TV5), and an adopted daughter, Alice Dixson, who gets impregnated by Jay Manalo, a member of Freddie’s family. Alex will be their daughter. Also in the cast are acting mentor Ann Villegas, Vandolph and brother Jun Quizon (formerly Dolphy Jr.) Alex’ leading man is Alwyn Uytingco, the boyfriend of GMA’s Jennica Garcia. This is the second time they work together as Alwyn was also in the Sunday afternoon show “BFGF” with her.
