Akihiro Sato wins Survivor Philippines

Akihiro Sato, who was tagged as Mr. nice guy and who's also financially deprived won the Survivor Philippines Celebrity Edition.

There were 4 remaining survivors: Akihiro Sato, Solenn Heussaff, Aubrey Miles and Ervic Vijandre. One more was voted out at the start of the live finale of “Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown” and it was Aubrey. Although her ruthless scheming helped her make it to the top four, it wasn’t enough to convince the jurors that she deserves to be in the final three. And of the remaining 3, it was Aki’s gentlemanly tactics and refusal to play dirty that ultimately won the jurors’ nod.

There were 7 jurors: Jon Hall, Michelle Madrigal, Sexbomb Aira, Elma Muros, Ahron Villena, Yaya Moi and the last one was Aubrey herself. Solenn and Ervic got two votes each while Aki got three, so he became Sole Survivor got the P3 million tax-free prize handed by GMA Pres. Atty. Felipe Gozon. All the skin infections he got as a result of insect bites in the island paid off. The plea of Aki’s friend that he should win as he’s the most cash strapped among them and that he’d give part of his winnings to charity also obviously appealed to the jurors.

Aki told us before that, if he’d win, he’d buy himself a car as he’s now taking cabs and he’ll try to get his family from Brazil to visit him here. He can certainly do that now. But even if she didn’t win, no doubt it’s Solenn who benefited the most from her exposure in “Survivor”. Before the reality show has ended, she already signed up various deals: a movie contract with Regal, a TV contract with GMA-7 and a recording contract with MCA Records. This season’s “Survivor” also showed Richard Gutierrez can be a good and convincing host. No wonder GMA-7 got him to also host the reality show replacing “Survivor” starting tomorrow, “Puso ng Pasko”.
