ALTHOUGH her sitcom “M3” with Aga Muhlach has just been terminated, the last months of 2010 proved to be very busy for Ai Ai de las Alas. She staged her hit 20th anniversary concert at the Big Dome and now she has an entry in the Metro filmfest, “Tanging Ina Mo Rin, Last Na ‘To”. In 2008, her “Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat” was the topgrosser. What are her chances this year? “Naku, andaming kalaban, nag-join forces pa sina
Bossing Vic and Sen. Bong, but I’m optimistic na hindi naman kami madedehado kasi we all did our best para mapaganda itong ‘Tanging Ina Mo Rin’. To begin with, reunion namin ito ng mga anak ko doon sa very first ‘Tanging Ina’ movie in 2003. Pati yung Japanese child actor na si Yuki, umuwi pa rito from Japan just to reprise his role in the film. Si Marvin Agustin, pinahiram ng GMA-7 sa amin dahil siya talaga ang panganay kong anak sa original movie. This time, may asawa na siya, si Kaye Abad, at mga anak. Ang hindi lang nakasipot si Heart Evangelista na nasa GMA na rin.”
What if “Tanging Ina Mo Rin” becomes numero uno and Star Cinema wants her to do yet another sequel? “Naku, tama na, kasi may closure na rito, e. Buti pang tapusin na ang series while we’re at our peak para maganda ang exit at hindi dahil pinagsawaan na lang kami ng tao.”
What’s her Christmas wish? “Wala na kasi sobrang dami ng blessings ang binigay sa’kin ni Lord, kaya nga nagbigay na ko ng thanksgiving mass when I celebrated my 46th birthday last month dahil umabot ako ng 20 years in showbiz. Sa ngayon, for me, God is enough, although kung gagawin ba Niyang topgrosser ang movie ko, di lalong malaking pasasalamat.”
