Wendell Ramos' managers pass away one after another

WENDELL RAMOS feels lucky to be given the chance to play Claudine Barretto’s husband in GMA-7’s Christmaserye, “Jillian, Namamasko Po” that starts airing tomorrow after “Survivor Philippines”. “Puro comedies ang ginagawa ko lately so I welcome this one dahil drama at pamasko pa,” he says. “Maraming heavy drama scenes na mabigat dalhin but very fulfilling.”

He plays a father role in “Jillian” and he can identify with it as he’s a dad in real life. His eldest son is almost a teener and plays basketball like him while his youngest is a 4-year old girl. They have different moms. What can he say about child star Jillian Ward? “She’s amazing. Grabeng energy kahit matagal na nagte-taping. Ang bilis ding mag-emote, kahit drama o comedy ang eksena. Nakakatuwa talaga on and off cam.”

The show’s director, Mark Reyes, says: “Wendell is a revelation here. He’ll show how good he is in drama. After yung daughter nila ni Claudine died, siya ang naging bitter and no longer believes in Christmas. It’s Claudine who doesn’t lose hope. Jillian is the doll from Santa Claus, played by Michael V, who changes their lives.”

Last year, his manager, the late Douglas Quijano passed so Wendell got a new one, the late Wyngard Tracy who also passed this year. He now plans to get Perry Lansigan. Well, we just hope things don’t really come in three’s or Perry has something to worry about in case he takes over in managing Wendell’s career
