Katrina Halili Avoid Press at Beauty Queen Set

WHEN WE visited the set of “Beauty Queen”, we got to interview Iza Calzado, TJ Trinidad, Maggie Wilson, Carmi Martin, Bembol Roco and even Director Joel Lamangan, except Katrina Halili who shied away from the press. We don’t take it against her. It’s understandable for her to do so since each time she’s interviewed, they keep on asking her about Hayden Kho, his mom, and the cases Katrina filed against them even if she already told them her lawyer advised her to just keep quiet about it as the courts might get prejudiced. All the hoopla must already be coming out of her ears so we respect her choice not to be interviewed by the press anymore.

To those who say Katrina’s role in “Beauty Queen” seems to be very small, Direk Joel says it’s because Katrina as Dorcas is the less favored daughter of Carmi Martin who’s pushing her other daughter more, Maggie Wilson, to win as beauty queen. But when Maggie rebels from her and suddenly gets married, Carmi’s attention will focus on Katrina. This is where Katrina will become the foremost rival of Iza Calzado, who is now called Maita in public. “Maraming exciting things that will happen,” he adds. “Nilagyan ni Carmi ng bomba ang eruplano ni Iza at sumabog ito. People think Iza is dead but it turns out she is saved by fishermen who take her to an island. She falls into a bonfire at nasira ang mukha niya. Dito darating din si Marvin Agustin as Donald to save her and restore her beauty.”
