A letter from a reader Cristie Elemento of Lucena. She wants to know why GMA stars have more write-ups than ABS stars in most newspapers? Simply because, GMA has a more aggressive publicity department. They hold lavish presscons to introduce their new shows, whereas with ABS, some new shows are aired without presscons, like “Idol” and “Imortal”. Then GMA has on-going promos for shows that are already being aired, informing viewers what to expect in the plot narrative for each week. They likewise conduct location visits where writers can interview stars of existing shows. Before a show ends, they hold a presscon again as thanksgiving to those who supported it and to drum up more interest for their show’s finale week.
