Cheryl Cosim to host her own show in TV 5

IS IT TRUE ABS-CBN news anchor and TV host Cheryl Cosim is leaving the station where she has worked for 14 years? Cheryl received a very lucrative offer from TV 5. But we heard that she hasn’t formally signed up with TV 5. Is she having second thoughts or is there a counter offer from her ABS-CBN bosses that prevents her from formally signing a deal with TV 5? The report is that starting March, Cheryl will be made to anchor the primetime newscast on TV 5 with Paolo Bediones, who also holds an executive position in the network. Paolo transferred late last year from GMA 7 to TV 5.

Cheryl will also be given her own public affairs program on TV 5. She is reportedly the only female news personality at ABS-CBN who received a formal offer from TV 5. There is no bad blood between Cheryl and ABS-CBN, contrary to speculations about the reason she is leaving. Will the Kapamilya network really let her go? Cheryl has been working there for 14 years, but up to now, she hasn’t been given a break to do a newscast. Yes, she anchors the hourly news updates from morning to evening, but it will probably still take years to see Cheryl do the full-length newscast nightly like Karen Davila and Ces Drilon.

Cheryl feels her dedication and loyalty seemed to have been overlooked by the station, which decided to build up more than her the likes of Pinky Webb and Bernadette Sembrano. Cheryl practically lives in the station, working seven days a week from early morning until late evening on TV and on DZMM. We wonder what will happen to her health program, “Salamat Dok?” We all know that Cheryl pioneered this program which has won numerous awards. If ever she really moves to TV 5, Cheryl will be working with Luchi Cruz-Valdes, who's also from the Kapamilya network and now heads the news department of the former station. DJ Sta. Ana, the husband of Karen Davila who also used to work at ABS-CBN news department, is another executive in the TV 5 news room.
