RICO PUNO is best known for his risque humor in his shows. "Some say it's bastos but people look for it kahit sa abroad," he says.
So what does he do when he offends someone? "May gut feel na ako kung sino ang puede kong paglaruan sa mga kasama ko sa show o sa members ng audience. Sa States, lalo sa Las Vegas, sanay sila sa kabastusan, even four letter words from stand up comics. Dito, you have to be careful pa rin. When someone gets offended, pinababayaan ko lang muna but later, babalikan ko yan kasi kailangan makuha mo siya at maging friend mo. That's part of your responsibility as a performer. You should know when to draw the line, gaya noong nangyari kay Osang (Rosanna Roces) sa 'Showtime', mas delikado yun kasi nasa TV. She offended a group, the teachers. Performing is a never ending learning process kasi hindi lang naman ako singer kundi performer."
Rico is glad to be in the company of good friends Rey Valera and Eva Eugenio in the Valentine show, :"Legends in Love" at the Skydome of SM North Edsa on Saturday, February 13, 8 PM. "Comfortable na ko sa kanila kasi we already did shows before sa PICC, pero first time na trio kami at puro love songs ang kakantahin namin. Sabi ko nga, show ko ito kasi birthday ko noon. I'm turning 57 na, kaya guests ko lang sila."
Their rendition of their classic hit songs in the 70s and 80s like "Kapalaran", "May Bukas Pa", "Buhat", "Tukso", "Pag-ibig na Walang Dangal", "Kung Kailangan Mo Ako", "Walang Kapalit", and many more, made their "Legends" series a big success. "This time, we'll do grand production numbers, romantic duets and medleys of well loved songs to put the crowd in the mood for love on Valentine's Day," adds Rico.
