KRIS AQUINO'S camp is said to be sore at John Lloyd Cruz for refusing to play the young Ninoy Aquino in the dramatization of her parents' love story in "Maalaala Mo Kaya". He was replaced by Piolo Pascual, with Bea Alonzo as the young Cory Cojuangco. They say Lloydie made a mistake in turning it down as it's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play a historical character like Ninoy. They even berated his political beliefs and accused of him of not loving his country.
The truth is John Lloyd is really a better choice as Ninoy and Cory were both in their early 20s when they got married. Piolo is already 33 years old, so he's quite old for the role. But they should not be annoyed with Lloydie just because he rejected the role. It's still his right to make a choice and we live in a free country, after all.
