ARRON VILLAFLOR PLAYS HIS MOST CHALLENGING ROLE TO DATE IN 'TUHOG' AS A SOLDIER WITH POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER

AT the 'TUHOG' PRESSCON with Nino Mendoza, Arron Villaflor, Apple Dy & Billy Villeta

ARRON VILLAFLOR has done many sexy dramas with Vivamax where he almost always have butt exposure in his love scenes with various sexpots.

He says his friends chide him: “Nakita na namin ang puwet mo.”  So, does he regret going sexy?

“No, when Viva first offered me to join them, two years na akong walang trabaho because of the pandemic,” he says.

“I thought about it for two weeks and consulted my parents. They said yan ba talaga ang gusto mong gawin? It’s a very hard decision, after coming from doing wholesome shows, but I think I’m old enough to make such decisions for myself.

"It’s a big gamble but I think it’s worth it. I look at this as a career move for me to do more mature materials and I’m glad that Viva is giving me good projects ever since I joined them.”

What are his favorites among the projects he did with Vivamax?

“Sa movies, ‘La Querida’, ‘Hilom’ and now, also ‘Tuhog’, all directed by Direk GB Sampedro. I also like ‘Wag Mong Agawin ang Akin’, a series where I played a villain role, directed by Mac Alejandre.

"I played very challenging roles in all of them and I want to thank Viva for the good opportunities and the blessings they’ve given to me.”

“Tuhog” will start streaming on November 3. What is his role in it?

“I play a soldier who gets assigned in Mindanao. In an encounter with rebels, nasabugan ako and went missing.

"My girlfriend, si Apple Dy, and my dad, played by Joko DIaz, thought that I was killed. They consoled each other and eventually, sila ang nagkaroon ng relasyon.”

Complications occur when Apple got a call one day saying the authorities have found Arron and is currently confined in the hospital.

It turns out that Arron was just held captive by the rebels led by Nino Mendoza. He was tortured by eventually manages to escape from his captors.

But the Arron who left is now very different from the Arron who came back.

He is suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) after his harrowing experiences in Mindanao. He is very suspicious, acts strangely and has become sadistic to Apple when they make love.

“Sa mga nagawa ko sa Viva, naiiba ito and I consider it siyang pinakamabigat as it required a lot from me,” says Arron.

“Mahihirap ang mga eksenang parang tinatakasan ako ng katinuan. I’m really happy na sa akin nabigay ang ganito kagandang role. With the help of Direk GB, I think nabigyan ko naman siya ng justice.”

Arron is glad that he is also included in the cast of Viva’s Metro-Manila Filmfest entry, “Penduko”.  “Yes, I’m so happy I’m part of an official entry in the filmfest,” he beams.

“The last movie na I’m involved with na nasali sa MMFF was ‘Katas ng Saudi’ which was in 2007 pa. Ang tagal na, ngayon lang naulit.”

What’s his role in “Penduko”?

“Kontrabida na binu-bully si Matteo Guidicelli as Pedro Penduko.

"This movie also reunites me with Direk Jason Paul Laxamana, who directed me in the first movie where I played a starring role, ‘Astro Mayabang’, an entry sa Cinema One Digital Filmfest.

"Ang tagal na noon and it was also the first directorial job of Direk Jason Paul. Ngayon lang naulit and I’m happy to get the chance to work with him again.

"I hope to get more mainstream projects and also, mabigyan sana ako ng project sa Viva One na hindi sexy.”
