MOIRA DE LA TORRE was a contestant in “The Voice Pilippines” in 2013, exactly ten years ago.

Mitoy Yonting won, with Klarisse de Guzman as runner up, but there is no doubt that Moira is now a bigger star than any of them as one of our country’s biggest pop stars.

She composes her own songs and her album, “Malaya”, is certified 8 times platinum.

The lead single “Malaya” was used in the Viva movie “Camp Sawi”.

She married singer Jason Hernandez in 2019 and their wedding duet, “Ikaw at Ako”, became a big hit. But their marriage did not last and ended in separation in 2022, with Jason admitting he became unfaithful.

Moira says she has since fully healed and recovered.

She has just been officially launched as the brand ambassador of Destileria Limtuaco’s Maria Clara Sangria, the leading sangria brand in the country.

Moira herself composed the catchy anthem “Maria Clara,” a full-length song that is the brand’s new jingle.

She lends her soothing voice to deliver a positive message of self-love, regardless of the situation.

So why did Destileria Limtuaco, the country’s oldest distillery, choose Moira as their Maria Clara endorser?

“She’s one singer whose inspirational songs have resonated with people of all ages all over the world,” says Pres.& CEO Olivia Limpe-Aw.

“She’s really a very talented singer and songwriter with millions of followers. She has gone through a lot of challenges in her life but she is able to triumph over them, so she is the best endorser for our brand.

"We’re happy and honored to have her with us. She has composed a beautiful song for Maria Clara that says you might be facing lots of troubles, but in the end, everything will be all right.”

“Maria Clara”, the song, tells everyone that sometimes, it's okay to not feel okay, but you can just take your time and be assured that everything will be alright.

“Maria Clara” humanizes the leading sangria brand and frames the product as a steady companion and a good friend to spend your precious time with.

“It basically serves as a friend for all seasons,” says Moira. “And so, ‘Maria Clara’ is a reminder of where you’ve been and where you’re going and who you are as a woman.”

Moira adds that she wanted to focus on the effect of Maria Clara on the lives of people saying:

“For me, Maria Clara is really a comforting friend. It helps ease loneliness, it has also helped people to cope with whatever problems they are expering.

"And it has helped people celebrate the happy occasions in their lives. I’m familiar with the brand as I grew up in Olongapo and my titas will always drink Maria Clara Sangria during special occasions, specially sa New Year.

"I really drink it so I felt it’s a brand that I can really represent.”

Now, you can also enjoy life’s moments without the need for alcohol with Maria Clara Virgin, which aligns beautifully with Moira’s message of being true to yourself.

Take the time to reflect on the lyrics and melody of Maria Clara, composed by this extraordinary talent, while enjoying a glass or two of Maria Clara Sangria or Maria Clara Virgin.

“Maria Clara” by Moira Dela Torre can be streamed on Spotify. Maria Clara Sangria and Maria Clara Virgin are available in all major retail outlets.
