KRISSHA VIAJE as the sister of ASHLEY DIAZ in 'MARY CHERRY CHUA'

ABBY BAUTISTA as the ghost in 'MARY CHERRY CHUA'

TWO ACTRESSES who’ve been around for sometime are now given good breaks in the Viva horror flick, “Mary Cherry Chua”, that opens in theaters on July 19: Krissha Viaje and Abby Bautista.

Krissha surprised us at the presscon of “Mary Cherry Chua” when she said she’s already 30 years old as she looks much younger than her age.

In the movie, she plays a nurse, the overprotective older sister of Ashley Diaz who plays the lead role of the student who investigates the murder case of Mary Cherry Chua.

Krissha actually started in the business as a singer. She competed in the second season of the singing contest “Little Big Star” in 2006.

She has since done supporting roles in ABS-CBN shows like “Maalaala Mo Kaya” and “Kapitan Awesome”.

As a teener, she became a member of the singing group GirlTrends in “It’s Showtime”. She then moved to Viva where she has appeared in Vivamax dramas like “Greed” and “Dulo”.

She also did “The Rain in Espana” on Viva One, where she played the role of Heaven Peralejo’s friend Ashianna.

As for Abby Bautista, she also started with ABS-CBN as a child star in the gag show “Goin’ Bulilit”.

She’s best known as Vice Ganda’s sister in “Petrang Kabayo” whose catchline is “Maganda ako!”

Vice liked her performance and got her again to co-star with him in “Sisterakas” and “Praybeyt Benjamin 1 and 2”.

She also did TV shows like “Wansapanataym”, “Ipaglaban Mo” and she played a memorable role as the victim of child rape in “Maalaala Mo Kaya”.

Other soaps she did as a Kapamilya are “Kadenang Ginto”,  “Si Kokey at Ako” as the young Toni Gonzaga and “Sabel” as the young Jessy Mendiola.

Then she moved to Viva and did two films with Anne Curtis: “Who’s That Girl?” and “The Gifted”.

She was also with Sharon Cuneta in “Revirginized” and with Yassi Pressman in “Girlfriend for Hire”.

In “Mary Cherry Chua”, she plays the title role no less.

“Yes ako po yung student in the 60s who was raped and murdered kaya nagbabalik ako sa school namin as a ghost,” she says.

“Bale third horror movie ko na po ito sa Viva kasi nakasama rin ako before sa ‘Dark Room’ with Ella Cruz and “Tumbok” with Cristine Reyes.

"Pero ngayon pa lang po ako gaganap na multo para manakot ng mga tao kaya abangan nyo ang papanakot ko sa mga sinehan this Wednesday na po, July 19 if you want a good scare.”
