AT the premiere night: Joross, Paolo, Dir. Jules Katanyag & Faye Lorenzo as the manananggal

PAOLO CONTIS is elated that his new “Eat Bulaga” co-hosts came to support the premiere night of his movie, “Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars” that will open in theaters on June 28: Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, Buboy Villar, Kimpoy Feliciano and Alexa Miro.

Other stars who showed up are Kokoy de Santos, Patrick Garcia, Jason Abalos, Royce Cabrera, Adrian Alandy and Roadfil Macasero.

The movie is a combination horror-comedy directed by GMA’s Jules Katanyag and produced by MAVX Productions.

Paolo plays Bobby B, a producer of hit films whose dream is to make the first Pinoy movie win in the best international film category of the Oscar Awards.

He breaks up with his executive producer-financier, Jon Santos, and teams up with his friend, Joross Gamboa as DMZ, a struggling director, to come up with their dream project.

They come up with a movie with supernatural elements involving real life “aswangs”, mythical monsters in Filipino culture.

A very good scene in the movie shows them arriving in the beautiful island of Catanduanes to shoot their film on location.

"Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars" is a tribute to imagination, friendship, and the unrestricted spirit of pursuing your dreams.

To create a unique and distinctive film experience, it combines humor, fantasy and even a few touching scenes when the ‘aswangs’ start eating the film’s crew members one by one.

With nothing but their wits, tenacity, and a camera, our characters plunge head first into this unexplored region with a mixture of thrill and anxiety.

Their hilarious mishaps happen as they go through some bizarre and uncanny experiences, weaving a tapestry of side-splitting moments that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The characters come to life thanks to Paolo and Joross's comedic timing and chemistry that will surely appeal to viewers from all walks of life.

It guarantees to keep the viewers laughing and thrilled.

The big cast includes Kate Alejandrino as Paolo’s assistant, Long Mejia as the mysterious Ka Pedro and Gian Magdangal as Nonong.

The aswangs include Faye Lorenzo, Mido Elmido and Yukii Takahashi.

The film cream includes Junjun Quintana, Leo Bruno, Elaine Ochoa, Zweden Obias, Joseph Villanueva, Ian Ignacio, Paeng Sudayan, VJ Mendoza, Victor Medina, Edmar Guanlao and Jmee Katanyag.

Going back to Paolo, he admits that his life has changed now that he is hosting a daily show like “Eat Bulaga”.

“Dati, I wake up late, but now I have to wake up early to be at the studio,” he says. “From my place in Makati, inaagahan ko ang punta sa studio sa Cainta para hindi ako matrapik.

"Then I go home after the show, I go back to bed feeling drained, at kapag nagising ako, hatinggabi na.

"Hindi na ako makatulog so I’m still adjusting. But I’m enjoying naman what I’m doing, also the dedication of the people I work with.

"Masaya kami, everyone’s positive at naging close na kami. As for the comments, we want to thank everyone.

"We listen to the positive ones at yung namba-bash lang, okay lang. Basta ang importante, wala kaming inaapakang tao and we’re just trying to entertain the audience.”
