GLAIZA DE CASTRO GIVES ANOTHER STERLING PERFORMANCE AS THE WRONGED WIFE IN GMA AFTERNOON PRIME'S 'THE SEED OF LOVE', DIRECTED BY RICKY DAVAO

GLAIZA DE CASTRO says that since she got married, folks keep asking her as to when she is going to have a baby.

“We do have plans of having kids but right now, honestly, parang natatakot pa akong magbuntis,” she says at the zoom presscon of her new GMA Afternoon Prime soap, “The Seed of Love”.

“So I need to be fully prepared physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Kasi nakikita ko rin sa mga kaibigan ko, sa mga kapatid ko, na hindi talaga madali magkaroon ng anak and be a mom.”

Her Irish husband David Rainey truly understands her stand.

“Pareho kami, pinaghahandaan muna namin talaga. Para pagdating ng time na gusto na talaga namin mag-baby, fully settled na kami.

"Kasi sa ngayon, marami pa  kaming kailangan ayusin, like we just started a business. Pero nakakatuwa nga, kasi itong ‘The Seed of Love’, it’s about getting pregnant and being a mom.

"Dito, we tackle yung subject ng in vitro fertilization. Kasi nga, iba-iba naman ang journey ng bawat babae.”

She is glad that women today are given a lot of choices.

“I think, ang advantage talaga sa panahon natin ngayon, ang isang babae, napakaraming options, ‘di ba?

"Nasa sa ‘yo na ‘yun kung ano ‘yung option na mas gusto mo, na pipiliin mo. Hindi naman masamang mag-try ng iba’t ibang paraan para magkaroon ng anak.”

She says modern women who value their own careers can now make their own decision.

“May mga babae na talagang ang pangarap nila, yung maging nanay, ‘di ba? May mga babae naman na in-accept na nila na hindi sila bagay na maging nanay.

"And I think, ‘yun ‘yung isa sa mga lessons ng bago naming show na ‘The Seed of Love’.

"Hindi lang yung audience, kundi ako mismo, na-educate rin ako through this show. Yung characters that Valerie Concepcion and I have divergent views about love and motherhood and I’m sure may mapupulot kayong magandang insights from the show.”

If ever, how many children would she want to have.

“Siguro, dalawa lang pero, hindi naman tayo makakasiguro.

"It’s the Lord’s will. Siya pa rin ang masunod.

"Pero for me, ideally, dalawa para hindi mahirap i-manage and you can give them all your time and attention.”

Glaiza is happy to be reunited with Ricky Davao as her director in “The Seed of Love”.

“He was also my director in my last show, ‘Nagbabagang Luha’, so sanay na kami sa isa’t isa.

"In this show, maraming mabibigat na eksena sa role ko as Eileen, the wife of Mike Tan, na pilit aagawin ni Valerie Concepcion who is so obsessed to get him.

"Tiyak na viewers will be hooked in our story kasi the characters are so well written and very involving. So don’t miss ‘The Seed of Love’ when we start airing this Monday, May 8, after ‘AraBella’.”
