ALLEN DIZON is one of our busiest actors today. He has four new movies in the can: “Ligalig” with Nora Aunor, “Pamilya sa Dilim” with Laurice Guillen, “Walker” with Sunshine Dizon, and “Abe Nida” with Katrina Halili.
Aside from this, he is shooting two new films: “Acetylene Love” with Jaclyn Jose and “Poon” with Janice de Belen and Althea Ablan.
He is also busy on TV with GMA-7’s hit afternoon drama, “Abot Kamay na Pangarap”.
And now, he has just been tapped to be the endorser of a top restaurant chain, Wing Commander, that has several branches in Antipolo, Cainta, Marikina and Tagaytay.
“I feel so blessed sa dami ng trabahong dumarating sa akin,” says Allen in his launch as official Wing Commander endorser.
“Wing Commander offers the best chicken wings, smoked and with different flavors.
"They offer other yummy dishes like bulalo, sisig and other cuisines, all at reasonable prices.
"Their main restaurant is in Sumulong Highway in Antipolo, on top of a beautiful hill overlooking Metro-Manila down below.”
Allen is taping four times a week for “Abot Kamay na Pangarap”. He shoots his movie only on weekends.
In the weeks to come, his character, Dr. Carlos Benitez, will be romantically linked to Carmina Villaroel as Lyneth.
Looks like he’s the replacement of Richard Yap who’s busy now taping another show with Jodi Sta. Maria. Allen doesn’t mind being just a late addition to the show.
“I’m enjoying the company of everyone in the cast and production staff, pati si Direk L.A. Madridejos,” he says. “They all welcomed me warmly and napakasaya naming lahat sa set. I like my role kahit late na akong pumasok.
"Kaysa naman yung nasa simula ka nga, pero papatayin ka naman agad. Ito, naka-schedule na ang taping ko for them hanggang sa July. This is my second soap with Carmina after we did 'Doble Kara' sa kabilang istasyon.”
But he has to ask GMA’s permission to allow him to attend the Danang International Filmfest.
“I am leaving on May 9 and I will be back on May 14, tapos diretso na ako agad sa taping.
"My film, ‘Abe Nida’, is an official competition entry in Danang, so I’m going to represent it.
"But my manager, Dennis C. Evangelista, told me not to expect anything kasi ang mga kalaban namin, nanalo na raw sa Cannes Filmfest.
"So we are just happy with the participation of ‘Abe Nida’, where I play the role of a wood carver who’s losing his mind after his wife cheated on him.”
Going back to Wing Commander, why did they get Allen to be their endorser?
“Unang-una, favorite niyang kumain sa restaurant namin,” says Wing Commander top honcho Jefferson Besas.
“And he has an impressive record as an award winning actor. Andami talaga kasi he has won a total of 48 acting awards both here and abroad.
"He also has a good reputation in and out of showbiz, so he’s the real Wing Commander, and we are so proud to collaborate with him.
"He is also helping us to get more franchise holders for our restaurant.”
