XIAN LIM is one of the busiest actors at the Viva stable. After doing “Bahay na Pula” with Julia Barretto, “Always” with Kim Chiu, he directed and also acted in “Hello Universe” and got busy with a new soap, “High on Ice”.
Now, he stars in another new movie, “Sa Muli”, which pairs him for the first time with Ryza Cenon, written and directed by Fifth Solomon.
The movie is about reincarnation and he plays three characters.
He plays Victor during the Spanish Times in the 1900s, Nicolas in the 1950s and Pep in the present time.
In each of these periods, he falls in love with the same woman, Aurora in the 1900s, Belen in the 1950s and Elly in modern times.
All of them are played by Ryza Cenon and Xian is confident that they will always meet again in another lifetime.
And they do, but Ryza does not remember her past lives, so he has to take her to the old town of Taal, Batangas where they first met for her to remember their previous love affair.
So how is it working with Ryza?
“Si Ryza, very focused sa work niya,” he says. “Game face lagi siya. E, ako, makulit. Joke-joke ako, para light lang.
"But her being a serious actress helped us a lot in getting our respective characters easily.
"Naging galante siya in our last day of shoot, kasi it took us three years to finish the film because of the pandemic. Nagpa-lechon siya on the set.”
How about their young director, Fifth Solomon?
“He also wrote the script and it’s a really good material. Maganda ang pagka-develop sa past and present stories ng characters namin ni Ryza.
"Viewers will be hooked sa journey nila. The ending will make them happy and they will fall in love again.”
Does he believe in reincarnation?
“I do believe in it. Wala namang masama kasi anything is possible, di ba? And may friends ako who also believe in reincarnation.
"Ako nga, I’m wondering kung ano kaya ako in my past life. Naiisip ko, baka polar bear ako.”
Is it true that KimXi fans, supporters of his love team with Kim Chiu, do not approve of his being paired with Ryza?
“No, they’re very supportive nga. Matalino na ang fans ngayon and people know naman that we are both taken na. There’s also no use to link Ryza and I just to help promote the movie.
"The movie will stand by itself kasi maganda talaga siya and I think Direk Fifth Solomon has come up with a real crowdpleaser, so panoorin nyo na agad when it opens in theaters nationwide on April 26.”
