'VOLTES V LEGACY' STILL SHOWING IN THEATERS, FULL PRIMETIME SERIES TO BE SHOWN ON GMA TELEBABAD STARTING MAY 8 REPLACING 'LIHIM NI URDUJA'

GMA NETWORK left no stone unturned to make sure they’ll come up with a sure crowdpleaser and real winner in “Voltes V Legacy”, now still showing in SM Cinemas.

Get ready to volt in as GMA proudly presents the most epic primetime series to land on Philippine TV via “Voltes V: Legacy” which later premieres on GMA Telebabad this May 8.

It is headlined by no less than five of Sparkle’s sought-after artists: Kapuso Ultimate Heartthrob Miguel Tanfelix as Steve Armstrong, Ysabel Ortega as Jamie Robinson, Matt Lozano as Big Bert Armstrong, Radson Flores as Mark Gordon, and Raphael Landicho as Little Jon Armstrong.

“Voltes V: Legacy” follows the story of three brothers: Steve, Big Bert, and Little Jon and their friends Jamie and Mark – as they join forces to fight together the evil Boazanian forces who plan to invade Earth and launch their beast fighters all over the world.

Director Mark Reyes became emotional during the presscon as he recounts how the project germinated in his mind way back in 2014 and then he presented it to GMA and to the original Japanese company that produced it, Toei.

“Mahaba po ang pinagdaanan namin and after almost ten years, we are now finally showing it,” he says.

“And it’s all worth it. When the trailer was shown, the reaction was not just local but worldwide. We got reaction videos from abroad, various nations.

"Of course, may negative, like, kaya ba nila yan? Baka mamaya, pangit lang lumabas yan. Pero mas marami ang positive reactions that defend us to those who bash us, even from other countries, supportive sila.

"That was heartwarming for us and this is the proof na kaya nating lumevel up. Ginastusan ito, pinag-isipan, pinaghirapan nang husto, so heto na po.

"What’s nice about ‘Voltes V’ is that it’s the story of friendship and a family, the Armstrongs. And Gen Z viewers today will appreciate how the Armstrongs bond together to help fight those who want to conquer our planet.”

Miguel Tanfelix says the parents of Gen Z viewers who saw Voltes V in their younger days will surely appreciate how they updated the material and made it a live action presentation.

“The show is made with world class standards. Lahat kami sa show are so happy to be part of this groundbreaking project in Philippine television.

"Forever na naming ipagmamalaki na nakasama kami rito. The CGI here can rival those of other countries and it’s something we can all be proud of.

“Voltes V: Legacy” is GMA’s most expensive and biggest  production to date.

That’s why acclaimed director Mark Reyes emphasizes that the series is an epitome of Pinoy pride.

“Close to 1,000 people ang nagtulungan para malikha itong buong series in a span of 3 to 4 years.

"It was a long, complex, pandemic-stricken challenge for everyone involved.

"Pero I can proudly say that the whole team succeeded with a 100% Pinoy-made production that will entertain audiences not only locally, but also globally.”

The show has a big powerhouse cast, with special participation of Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo as Ned Armstrong, the father of the three Armstrong brothers; Max Collins as Rozalia, a humanoid alien and the first wife of Ned; and Carla Abellana as Mary Ann Armstrong, Ned’s wife from planet Earth who will help him in creating Voltes V.

Also part of the ensemble cast are Gabby Eigenmann as Commander Robinson, the father of Jamie and the co-designer of Voltes V; and Albert Martinez as Dr. Smith, a colleague of Dr. Armstrong who will assist in the development of Voltes V.

The main villains are Martin del Rosario as Zardoz, the Prince of Boazanian Empire who wishes to conquer Earth; Liezel Lopez as Zandra, the unrequited lover of Zardoz; Epy Quizon as Zuhl, the scientist who will invent the Anti-Super Electromagnetic Device to destroy Voltes V; Carlo Gonzales as Draco, the three-horned general sent to Earth with Zardoz and Zandra.

Adding thrill to the series are the other Boazanian forces: Chanda Romero as Contessa; Christian Vasquez as Emperor Zambojil; Ryan Eigenmann as Barron Zander; Dion Ignacio as Obgen; Carlos Siguion-Reyna as Emperor; Bibeth Orteza as Fadsa; Juan Rodrigo as Baden; Mike Lloren as General Watson; Jamie Wilson as Garth; Brent Valdez as Magus; Nico Antonio as Oslak; Khaine Dela Cruz as young Zardoz.

Completing the powerhouse cast are the members of Camp Big Falcon: Neil Ryan Sese as Dr. Hook, Elle Villanueva as Eva; Crystal Paras as Judy; Jamir Zabarte as Tomas; Kyle Ocampo as Amira;

Migs Villasis as Apable; Kimson Tan as Tadao; Sophia Senoron as Ally; Julia Pascual as Anna; Dave Duque as PJ; Joaquin Manansala as Sergeant Major Edwards; Angela Alarcon as Chief Kelly;

Marx Topacio as Master Chief; Kokoy de Santos as Harvey Perez; Sharmaine Arnaiz as Luisa; Jon Lucas as R.S. Ignacio; Marinella Sheen Del Pilar as Dr. Alonzo; JR Calinoc as EDF soldier; Seth dela Cruz as young Steve; Steven Canja as young Big Bert.

The live action series is produced by GMA Network in partnership with Toei Company, Ltd. and Telesuccess Productions Inc.

Acclaimed local animators from Riot Inc. and GMA’s Post Video Graphics and Audio team handled the program’s heavy CGI and other visual effects.
