REEL AND REAL LIFE SWEETHEARTS RURU MADRID & BIANCA UMALI ECSTATIC OVER HUGE SUCCESS OF THEIR PRIMETIME SHOW, 'THE WRITE ONE'

REEL AND REAL life sweethearts Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali are so happy that their first drama series together, “The Write One”, rated high and got very positive feedback from viewers and netizens who expressed their approval for the show’s first week of telecast.

Th viewers liberally praised the engaging story, the splendid cinematography, the great music and original sound track, and most of all, the superb acting of the entire cast led by Ruru and Bianca.

Based on Nielsen’s TV audience measurement overnight data covering March 20 to 23, the pilot week of The Write One registered a combined (GMA/GTV/I Heart Movies) average people rating of 6.6 percent with estimated 3 million viewers in Urban Phils.

Its rival Dirty Linen only logged a combined (TV5/A2Z/Kapamilya Channel/Jeepney TV) people rating of 4.0 percent or around 2 million viewers. Online, its official hashtag #TheWriteOneWorldPremiere also made it to the top trending topics of Twitter Philippines on its first night.

“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng tumutok sa #TheWriteOneWorldPremiere. Mahal namin kayo at tutok lang po kayo sa amin every night!” Ruru tweeted.

Bianca likewise thanked the viewers for catching the pilot week episodes. “Maraming salamat po sa inyong suporta at mainit na pagtanggap sa amin. Para po sa inyo ito. Mahal namin kayo.”

Ruru plays William or Liam in the show. In the first episode, he narrates how he and Joyce (Bianca) first crossed paths back when they were in college, with Liam being attracted to the unsuspecting Joyce. But back then, Liam missed his opportunity to let Joyce know of his feelings.

Years pass by, and in a serendipitous encounter, they meet again. Liam now works at his father’s construction company but dreams of being a writer. Joyce, on the other hand, is dabbling in modeling and acting.

Liam finally reveals his feelings for Joyce. Eventually, they marry each other. Joyce leaves her budding showbiz career to devote her time to their family. But their story is just beginning. As they juggle family life and their respective careers, they soon discover that married life offers many challenges and it’s not easy to just live ‘happily ever after.’

Their son Dex (Euwen Mikael) had an accident and this would lead Liam to regret his decisions in life. With the help of his late mother’s old typewriter, Liam magically rewrites his and Joyce’s lives. He finds himself in an alternate world – one without Joyce and Dex.

A stark contrast to his previous life, Liam now lives in a mansion with his mom very much alive. He also holds a high position in his father’s firm and seems committed to a different girl named Via (Mikee Quintos).

Bianca, in turn, has become a famous actress named Savanah in their alternate universe. She also has a new suitor, Paul Salas as Hans, a young lawyer.

Bewildered, Liam tries to make sense of this new life and sets out to find Joyce and Dex in the new timeline, making the story very more intriguing in each new episode.

Also in the cast are Lotlot de Leon and Ramong Christopher ‘as Tess and Danilo Herrera, the parents of Ruru; Kaloy Tingcungco as Ruru’s sidekick and friend; Royce Cabrera as Vergil, Ruru’s half brother; and Francis Mata as Nestor, an old man who, for some reason, is so angry with Ruru in his alternate universe.
