GABBI GARCIA is so fortunate and blessed.
She has just finished “Mga Lihim ni Urduja” that is now about to be shown, and yet here she is currently taping another new show in Switzerland and Italy no less, “Unbreak My Heart”.
“Mga Lihim na Urduja” is about the mysterious missing necklace of the legendary Warrior-Princess Urduja of ancient times in Pangasinan and how it affects the lives of the people who found it in the present.
Sanya Lopez plays the fearless Princess Urduja, while Gabbi plays Crystal, a jewel expert, and Kylie Padilla plays Gemma, a female cop.
Gabbi and Kylie are the women in the present time who will be searching for Urduja’s necklace.
This will be a reunion for them and Sanya as they first worked together in the “Encantadia” remake in 2016 when they were all still new in the industry.
“It really helps na maganda na ang bonding naming tatlo and it’s like working anew with my Encantadia sisters,” says Gabbi.
“From that time to now, we have grown individually in our careers and private lives. We were all given our own successful shows.
"So it’s really so nice to be reunited with them and get to work together again in a show that touches on our country’s rich and colorful history.”
“Mga Lihim ni Urduja” is a historical fantasy reminiscent of the big hit that is “Maria Clara at Ibarra”, which it will replace on primetime.
A lot of viewers are commending GMA Network for coming up with shows like this, as they surely help orient today’s clueless young Gen Z viewers about our history.
Also in the big powerhouse cast of “Mga Lihim ni Urduja” are Zoren Legaspi, Gina Pareno, Sunshine Dizon, Rochelle Pangilinan, Michelle Dee, Kristoffer Martin, Jeric Gonzales, Vin Abrenica, Pancho Magno and Arra San Agustin.
As for “Unbreak My Heart”, this is a co-production between the Kapuso and Kapamilya Networks. Gabbi is paired for the first time with Joshua Garcia, co-starring Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap.
“I’m so happy to be given the chance to work with them,” says Gabbi.
“Si Joshua, matagal na kaming magkakilala dahil nagkakasama kami sa private get togethers ng mutual friends.
"So when we learned that we will be working with each other, comfortable na kami agad.
"When I read the script, ang ganda ng story and very intense ang emotions involved, so I’m sure that viewers will love to watch it.”
